NEED HELP GETTING A SCIENCE PROJECT PRODUCED?
We can help!
Do you have a Science project to promote? Are you looking for a co-production partner? If you answered yes, then we have an opportunity that may interest you: Win a chance to pitch your project during the newly created Matchmaker: Producers Forum at the World Congress of Science Producers taking place in Paris, Dec 3 - 6, 2003.
AIM OF THE SESSION:
Opportunity to build a Relationship with like-minded international producers.
We are creating a platform for independent producers (both veterans and newcomers) to inform each other about their programs in development. We hope that this matchmaking session will help to introduce producers to others with similar interests and skill bases with a view to setting up potential co-production partnerships. Make direct connections with commissioning editors, science producers from around the globe and other key decision makers in the world of science programming.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN?
You win a chance to pitch your project at Science 2003
You send us a synopsis of your science program; members of our Science Congress Steering Committee vet them and pick approximately 6- 8 worthy finalists; the finalists are notified; winning finalists prepare a three-minute mini-pitch to be delivered at the Producers Forum session in Paris at the World Congress of Science Producers; immediately following each presentation, the moderator will ask a few leading questions and will then ask the audience for a show of hands of parties who are interested in continuing discussions with the presenter. It is up to the 'pitcher' to follow up with all those who indicate interest.
(NB: Once chosen, all finalists must register for the Science Congress in order to be eligible to pitch. For registration information go to WEBSITE)
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION:
We want a good idea, a good team, & a marketable project with international appeal.
The judges will take into consideration the quality of the idea and how well it is thought out and presented; the track-record and the quality of the production team; the likelihood of a ready market for the program, the international appeal of the project (is the subject matter suitable for co-production); the likelihood of securing presale in the local market. Projects with an interested or committed home country broadcaster on board and/or other development support will be preferred.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED:
It's easy to enter!
This opportunity is open to both experienced and new producers. Proposals should be submitted to the World Congress of Science Producers using the official online submission form.
